Work in (slow) progress

I'm still here and still slowly getting things together, most of the 'creative' stuff is done, now its down to all the business side of things to get going. One thing I want to do is really put together a cohesive collection, so everything works together to help explore the theme. Most of the stuff I do, design/art or otherwise I always try and make sure things are in a series and all work alongside each other, but I also make sure they aren't all the same thing, that shit is just boring and gratuitous.

So the plan is to have the main design for the shirt be the flagship print for the collection, but to also have another design which takes elements from the main design and elaborates on them to use on something like bandanas or something other than shirts or hoodies, then to have another smaller design to be used for patches or pocket prints. I'm also toying with the idea of designing (or getting others to help me design) for other mediums, but that will have to wait till the next collection, I gotta get this one out first! I'm also thinking about using the designs a bit more, like hand screening prints on some nice paper, because I figure I'll already have the screen so why not get some more life out of it? They wouldn't be too expensive either, which is always good for people (like me) who are't rolling in the $$$ but wanna support.

The main thing I gotta get sorted is getting all my resources together, unfortunately that means saving some cash for the initial layout, screens, shirts, patches, paper are all things I gotta sort out and it all adds up. I'm looking at the cheapest and easiest way to get it all done, but I'm also looking at ways that I can keep it local, I got some good hook ups with my screens and looking at hopefully printing everything myself, which would be rad, but time consuming, but it will definitely keep my costs down, which is always a good thing.

I'm already sketching up some ideas for the next collection, but I'll keep it a secret for now, that's how psyched I am on the whole thing, I can't wait to move onto the next step. For now here's another progress shot of some sketches for the Toil collection.

Cheers
